A New Beginning…

We often think of new beginnings as happening when the calendar rolls over from one year to the next.  However, as I am typing this article, I am reflecting over the past six years that we have had the honor to serve our Lord together with you here at Seminary Baptist Church.   Since March of 2012, we have witnessed God at work in and through His body known as Seminary Baptist Church.  I am truly humbled that He would allow me the privilege of serving as your Pastor/Shepherd during these days.  As I reflect back over these years, I am once again thankful to God for giving me a “new beginning” in ministry. 

Easter Sunday is fast approaching.  This Sunday serves as a reminder of the greatest “new beginning” that men can experience.  New life in Jesus Christ!  Jesus stated, “Because e I live, you too shall live.” And with this truth comes the realization of the fulfillment of God’s plan for the redemption of mankind.  He is alive! Jesus Christ is Risen, He is Risen Indeed!

Another New Beginning for SBC was announced earlier this year as we began the construction of our new facilities.  To help you keep up with the ongoing progress, we are updating a slide show of photos on our church website www.seminarybaptistchurch.org .

You will recall that we held a prayer meeting on the site during the first week of construction.  We were challenged to pray daily for all who would work on this new facility, for their safety while working, and for the presence of God’s Spirit to touch them every day as they step foot on this property.  We also committed once again that every thing that will take place on this lot and within the facilities being constructed would be done for the honor and glory of our Lord.   

To further celebrate what God is doing in this “New Beginning” of construction, we have scheduled a special Ceremonial Ground Breaking for Sunday, April 8th @ 10:00 a.m.  We will have our regularly scheduled services that day but we will hold our groundbreaking ceremony between Sunday School and the 10:30 a.m. Worship service.  What exciting times in the life of SBC.

I look forward with great anticipation to all that God has in store for us in the years to come.  Thank you for your faithfulness to follow our Lord and to move Forward by Faith each day together as the family of God.
